This is to let our users know that the “local storing” feature will be removed soon.

Impact

Your data is safe regardless of whether you have logged in or not. We are not removing your data.

You will NOT be able to save more files/diagrams to the browser’s local storage (AKA cache).

Suggestion

You are advised to export all files/diagrams, sign in and save the files to the cloud. Your data will be stored in Google’s firebase. For more information, please refer to the privacy policy.

You can always keep a local copy on your disk or your own notes storage services.

Should you have any questions, please send an email to support (AT) zenuml (DOT) com.

Why

We thought it is for users benefit that we allow users to store the files/diagrams locally in the browser. However, many of our users are no aware that data stored in the browser’s local storage will get lost when they reset the browser or the computer until it really happens.

With the increase of the user-base of ZenUML, we are getting more and more users complaining that data has been lost when users change browsers, computers. We believe it is time to make the service more cloud-native.
